hey guys n gals, its been a while since i submitted a journal..
I had the coolest weekend
On friday night we went to the kwinana speed way to watched the drags, was loud, epic, and full of hot cars, n fast women.
witnessed two car crashes, wich was then annonced on the news the next day. was a fantastic night.
Saturday was pretty cruisey, relaxed and chilled out all day watching movies with nick and rex dog. I have been flogging Deadwood so much. i think you all should check it out, its totally badass.
Sunday i thought was going to be the shitest day ever, i had to attend my up herself cousins wedding rehersals for the day, i dont even know why i had to go, its not like im part of the wedding party or anything.. But by around 2 Oclock i was graced by nicks soft pressance, and out wonderful mate josh, i was told i was in for a surpise, we went for a bit of a drive then we arrived and Aqwa at hillarys boat harbour. I thought oh yeah, going to spend the rest of the day here, cool.. But NO! i was very very wrong indeed, i was told i was swimming with the sharks in Aqwas main tank area.. I was shit scared, i felt my heart sink and my stomach turn, But then i thought No, Ffion isnt like this, she is a tough, grimm shark eating machine,.. and how often do i get a chance to do this for free, and they are only grey nerse sharks, that are 5 meters long (glup) surly they are well fed right... ? Of coruse...
so i went to prep area, where i wait a 3 hr session, for 125 bucks.
josh and nick were swimming with me too, so i didnt feel so bad.
We had one hr of diving traing and 2 hr swimming time. But what made this experiance even more cool yet dawnting, was it wasnt only sharks i was swimming with, i was swimming with giant manta rays and giant sea turtals, and all kinds of big fish and little fish.
Diving training wasnt too bad, fairly easy as i recall. i was just eger to get into the water. Our training was finished and we made our way to the tank.
as i got closer i felt a lil sic, and i looked at nick, josh and I's refection in the windows as we passed them, oh shit, we look like bloody seals.. im going to die, well heres hoping nick or josh get eaten first so i can get away, haha.
We came to the tank entrance, were we were told we were to slide into, i became eger.
We lowerd our selfs into the cold water, we became weightless..
the diving instrustors followed behind, wish a bucket of fish.. "What what what what, we are feeding these things?" " of coruse" he said. i became even more sic, i knew i was going to be mistaken for a deep fried seal. But i still wanted to go in.
so finally we are swimming around, and i was giving a fish to feed to a shark, at 5 mtr long shark, they came swimming up, but yet they wernt trying to rush towards me, just cashually strolled up and opened thier mouth, the took the fish out of my hand ever so gentally, as if to say thanks, but im not really interested in tearing you limb from limb, I felt at peace with them. we were intrusted to swim around more and explor the tank, I did so, I swan towards one of the giant sea turtals, and he or she dived right underneath me, i looked up around me to see what esle was around and two giant mantarays swam over me and fiosh were dodging all around me, i felt so in aww, nick and josh were off trying to grab fish and ride sharks. I just wanted to follow the giant sea turtals around, they were so gracefull, I was infixciated on them, but i didnt notise a giant shark following me from behind, i think he was one of the biggest and oldest in the tank, but didnt seemed botherd by my pressence, maybe somewhat curious? i stoped and had to touch him\ her. they felt like sand paper, and seemed to like being petted, like a giant kitty cat that can rip your face off.
i swam back to the starting point to grab myself more fish to feed to the sharks, Nick and Josh were having the time of their lives, i grabbed 3 big fish and swam up to the sharks, and they didnt fight over the food just waited paiently, if only humans were this orderly. And they took the fish right out of my hands, and swam away. The instructor told us we had 30 mins left of free time were we could just swim around and frollick, so i wanted to dive to the bottem and see if i could find any sand fish. i found all kinda of things, giant fish with huge gulping mouths hiding amoungst the rocks, krill, lobsters, crabs, and even clown fish. i wanted to keep ones.
but sadly our time was up and we had to make out way to the edge of the tank.. i wanted to touch the shark one more time. i swam up in between two of them and ran my hands over thier sides, touching their gills and fins. i felt one with these animals. And i didnt want to leave. but sadly i had to.
i climbed out of the tank and got changed, the instructors asked us out for a nice late lunch and i was giving a huge great white shark plush toy, I was told i was very brave considering i was the first girl to dive for over 6 months. I feel so derro. yet i feel like i acomplished something off my 100 things to do before i die list.
It was amazing expericane, nothing will ever compare to swimming with these amazing killing machines.
